Conduction of National SDG4 Midterm Review

ERDCN has been providing logistic support for the Conduction of National SDG4 Midterm Review in partnership with UNESCO and MOEST.  In 2015, the Incheon Declaration and the Education 2030 Framework for Action were adopted to ensure quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all by 2030. At the Asia-Pacific regional level, the Learning and Education Networking Group 2030+ (LE2030+), co-chaired by UNESCO and UNICEF, is actively leading the SDG 4-Education 2030 coordination and monitoring efforts and initiatives in the region.
The LE2030+ group convened the 2nd Asia-Pacific Regional Education Minister's Conference (APREMC II) in June 2022 to discuss progress, challenges, and monitoring of SDG4. The undertaking of a Midterm Review of SDG4 by all Member States of the Asia-Pacific region was agreed upon at the Conference through the Bangkok Statement 2022.
According to the guidelines developed by UNESCO Bangkok, a national Midterm Review of SDG4 is encouraged to be conducted in 2023 to assess progress made towards achieving SDG4 targets and other education-related SDG targets since 2015, highlight good practices, and examine existing and emerging challenges and opportunities.  The purpose of the national SDG 4 Midterm Review is to assess progress made towards achieving SDG 4 targets and other education-related SDG targets, as well as to identify emerging issues and challenges. The review will also consider the impacts of COVID-19 on SDG 4 implementation and measures for learning recovery in the country.
